A winner of multiple awards across the festival circuit, including Best Documentary Feature at the Tribeca Film Festival, Scheme Birds centres on the life of Gemma, a teenager living in a rundown housing scheme in Motherwell, Scotland. Abandoned by her parents at a very young age, she's had to survive the harsh, hopeless environment, in which she lives, with only the support of her grandfather. Shot over several turbulent years, it's an extraordinary documentary, and a remarkable debut from filmmakers Ellen Fiske and Ellinor Hallin.
